The lucky player won $1 million after matching five white ball numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Monday, July 21, according to the Georgia Lottery’s website. The winning ticket was sold at a Circle K gas station in Forsyth, a lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News. The winner hadn’t come forward as of July 22.
Nearly 400,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Connecticut Lottery player was one of seven Powerball players across the nation to win a prize totaling over $100,000 following the drawing, according to Powerball. The player initially won $50,000, and $100,000 was added to their winnings due to Power Play. The odds of winning were one in over 913,000, according to the Powerball odds page.

The ticket matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number, a feat that has odds of 1-in-913,129 of occurring, officials said.
Eighteen states and the Virgin Islands have yet to sell a Mega Millions jackpot winning ticket. Pennsylvania has sold 18 winning tickets for the Powerball jackpot – the most of any state.
