But Mario Kart World ’s high asking price doesn’t appear to be the standard for Switch 2 software. Nintendo also confirmed Wednesday that Donkey Kong Bananza, coming to Switch 2 in July, will cost $69.99. Still, these are indicators that Nintendo is comfortable charging more not just for the Switch successor, but for its next-gen games too.
The new Mario Kart World video also suggests the game will have at least 28 tracks spread across seven Cups, along with 24 vehicles. Interestingly, it looks like Mario Kart World has fully formed vehicles; players seemingly no longer select individual parts to assemble a car.
The Switch 2 Direct was full of new reveals and promising features, but high prices and costs loomed over almost everything.
