Judge Allison Burroughs is a Harvard alum who heard arguments from lawyers representing the government and the university Monday morning. The Trump administration has said it intends to pull federal funding from Harvard, saying the university has not done enough to combat antisemitism in the wake of pro-Palestine protests last year.

At the hearing on Monday, the university accused the government of using funding as leverage to control its academic decisions.
