Another Yankees romp turned sour in the blink of an eye, with third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera suffering a serious left leg injury in the top of the ninth inning on Monday night during the team's 11-5 victory over the Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

New York Yankees third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera was driven off the field in an ambulance after suffering a gruesome left ankle injury Monday, May 12.

The Yankees are expected to activate veteran infielder DJ LeMahieu prior to Tuesday's game. If Cabrera's injury is as serious as it appears, LeMahieu will be able to slot into third base without much friction -- either from a starting lineup or active roster perspective. LeMahieu had missed the first month-plus of the season with a calf injury.
