When it comes to places to visit for the pleasures of viewing art collections, Baltimore is certainly not high on the lists of tourists, and in particular, foreign travelers, but should you find your… Full review by pierronzollo

Not as great as other Museum in the country but I still enjoyed my time gazing at the creativeness of each artist here. The contemporary abstract art caught my attention. The conception of the artis… Full review by James W

As mentioned above, Gertrude's is on site and run by award winning chef and cookbook author John Shields - a great was to learn about Chesapeake cuisine. Also a couple blocks to the southwest on 29th street is the unusual Paper Moon Cafe, wildly decorated in an eclectic mix of art and kitsch. A 'museum' in its own right.
Q:
Is there a restricted age as I am planning to be a lone traveller at 16?
A:
I don't think so, but I'd suggest calling them to verify.
Q:
Are all areas accessible by elevator?
A:
I believe so!

Yes, not a large number but please see the Matisse paintings which are very special. Also do know this is a totally FREE museum; something very rare these days; and has a nice representative of many artists. You and anyone would do well to visit this museum plus the Walthers Art Museum while in Baltimore - both ate totally FREE and very special. Stay for a night or two if you can do it - my suggested itinerary would be (1) Baltimore Art Museum (2) Walthers Art Museum (3) Baltimore Opera House for a performance (4) Baltimore Symphony at Meyerhoff Hall and do stay at the Brexton Hotel - a cute & updated historical inn once home to the woman who brought down a King of England just before WW2 (if you've watched the History Channel you'll know who she is). All of those places are in the Theatre and Arts District and there is even a free bus running between them. Revolutionary War places are nearby too - Star Spangled Banner - the fort is there too. Try it all and enjoy! Lite T
